Considered to be the most prestigious accolade presented to a UK organisation, the King’s Award for Enterprise is a globally recognised, royal seal of approval. Last month, the Palace released their highly anticipated list of 2023 recipients, with Congleton agency; TMC Strategic Communications, recognised within the International Trade category.

The Journey So Far

Having provided communication and creative services to their pioneering clients for over 17 years, TMC has been committed to developing international trade from the very beginning. Working with global leaders across the Healthcare, STEM, Energy and Infrastructure sectors, they have always recognised the value in delivering the very best strategic counsel, adapting their compelling campaigns for a wealth of culturally diverse audiences.

With 70% of their business linked to international trade, TMC’s core clients are based in 19 of the 27 EU member states, with campaign content translated into a wealth of languages and viewed in over 158 countries worldwide.

Despite the dual challenges of COVID-19 and Brexit, TMC has skilfully been able to diversify their digital service provision to navigate the specialist needs of a growing portfolio of international clients. From developing innovative virtual environments that negate the need for corporate travel, to emotive, cross-continent marketing campaigns that have inspired audiences to take action, TMC’s expertise, relevancy and desire to ‘create positive impact’ have proven the bedrock for sustainable, values-led growth.

Looking Forward

Commenting on the significance of this milestone, CEO Tim McCloud said,

We feel exceptionally honoured to have been recognised by an institution that is held in such high regard, but it can be entirely credited to the long-standing relationships we have built with our clients and the unwavering commitment of the whole TMC team who have helped us reach this point. Knowing that our application has progressed through strict due diligence, a recommendation from Downing Street and ultimately the Royal Household, fills us with immense pride.

TMC have been invited to an official reception at Buckingham Palace later in the year, to celebrate the achievements of the 2023 Awardees, before welcoming the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire, Lady Redmond MBE, to Congleton for the award presentation.

Exporting Great British Talent Across Europe and Beyond

Success for TMC has been found within a balanced and blended approach to exporting communications and creative services, understanding that international trade provides critical business resilience and stability. Their role is to effectively communicate key messages in relation to specialist Healthcare, Science and Technology innovations, working to ensure that this content is strategically disseminated across borders on behalf of their clients. Reimagining ‘big data’ and decades of records into captivating visualisations, TMC has consistently been able to provide significant impact to organisations’ brand reputation and visibility.

Aligning with their expertise in Social Impact and Corporate Social Responsibility, TMC has also seen significant opportunities in exporting best practice and content from UK community and education programmes. These initiatives, which can support and evidence an organisation’s commitment to UN Sustainability Development Goals as well as Environmental, Social and Governance strategies are often transferable to a global audience, particularly where their curriculum is based on, or similar to that taught across the UK.
