TMC is thrilled to announce its work on the Harry’s Home Village Tours has been shortlisted for five prestigious awards.

The project, inspired by global pop star Harry Styles’ hometown of Holmes Chapel, has captured the hearts of judges and is a finalist in three categories at the Marketing Cheshire Awards and two categories at the Prolific North Awards.

Delivered by not-for-profit Holmes Chapel Partnership, Harry’s Home Village Tour offers a unique guided experience through the Cheshire village of Holmes Chapel.  This includes visiting significant locations from Harry Styles’ early life, including his former workplace Mandeville’s bakery and Twemlow Viaduct, where he is said to have had his first kiss.

Led by TMC’s PR team the campaign for Harry’s Home Village Tour highlighted important road safety and heritage messages, alongside promoting ticket sales for the tours.  Such was the success of the campaign that the tours were extended beyond the summer months to meet customer demand.

The strategically timed PR campaign which launched in May achieved global media exposure. This included securing broadcast exclusives with media heavyweights NBC America, BBC News and Sky News, alongside a raft of further media interviews and feature articles. Within the first six weeks of the campaign, the PR team secured 885 media mentions, reaching a total audience of 1.9 billion people worldwide.

Significantly contributing to Cheshire tourism economy by attracting new visitors to the region, the project has now been recognised in the following award categories:

Marketing Cheshire Awards:

  • Best Tourism Marketing Project of the Year
  • Experience of the Year
  • New Tourism Business of the Year

Prolific North Awards:

  • Best Tourism Marketing Campaign
  • Best New Tourism Initiative

“Being shortlisted for these awards is a fantastic validation of our team’s hard work and creativity,” commented Diana Stephenson, Managing Director of PR at TMC. “This project has significantly contributed to raising the profile of our region on a global scale. Alongside the fun aspects of this tour, we were also challenged with communicating serious messages around road safety and vandalism. Our team addressed these issues with sensitivity and appropriateness, delivering gravitas to our media outreach that enabled us to secure coverage amongst the largest and most trusted news outlets globally.”
