North West strategic communications agency TMC is celebrating its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of growth from a home-based start-up to a 45-strong team delivering integrated communications for clients globally.
Founded in 2006 by husband-and-wife team Tim and Dr. Jan McCloud, TMC Strategic Communications provides full-service strategic communications including marketing, PR, brand and creative, campaign management and digital innovation, working with organisations across healthcare, medical technology, STEM sectors, franchise and property.
Now in its 20th year, TMC’s client portfolio includes major international organisations such as technology giant Siemens, diagnostics leader Hologic, the European Society of Cardiology, Home Instead and Mountpark. The agency has built a strong reputation for combining strategic insight with deep sector expertise, particularly within the medical and scientific space.
Speaking about the milestone, Tim McCloud, Chief Executive Officer at TMC Strategic Communications, said, “When we launched TMC in 2006, our aim was to create a business that delivered measurable, positive impact for clients in complex sectors. Twenty years on, we’re proud to have built a team of 45 supporting organisations at the forefront of healthcare, technology and innovation. Our growth has been driven by long-term partnerships, strategic thinking and a focus on quality.”
Dr. Jan McCloud, Chief Operating Officer and Healthcare Director, added, “Our expertise in healthcare and medical science has shaped how we operate as an agency. We understand the importance of evidence, accuracy and credibility, and how to translate that into creative, effective communications. This approach has enabled us to support clients through regulatory change, product launches, reputation management and long-term brand building.”
Headquartered in Congleton, Cheshire, TMC continues to invest in its North West base, most recently launching a professional podcast studio at its offices to strengthen its content, thought leadership and digital engagement capabilities.
TMC’s work has been recognised with recent award wins. The agency won ‘New Tourism Business of the Year’ at the Marketing Cheshire Tourism Awards for Harry’s Home Village Tour in Holmes Chapel, helping to boost the local economy and putting the village on the global map. TMC’s It Does Matter campaign, addressing violence against women and girls, won ‘Best Not-For-Profit Campaign – Non-Charity’ at the Prolific North Marketing Awards and has now been adopted by 18 police forces across the UK.
