Congleton, 16th December 2024 — TMC is proud to support Congleton’s NSPCC Toy Appeal 2024, donating multiple bags of toys to help make this festive season special for vulnerable children across the region.

The annual Toy Appeal, supporting Childline and the NSPCC and driven by local organisations including Congleton Town Council, the Congleton Chronicle and Plus Dane Housing, aims to provide gifts for children who might otherwise go without this Christmas. By contributing to this meaningful initiative, TMC hopes to spread joy and support families in need during the festive period.

The inspiration for this year’s donation stemmed from a festive ‘Decorate Your Desk’ competition at TMC’s home at The Space, on Congleton High Street. The agency teams were each allocated a small budget and challenged to hit local charity shops and retailers in search of decorations to don their desk, ensuring their spend stayed within the town. TMC’s graphic design team took a slightly different approach and instead allocated their funds towards buying toys for the appeal.

Paul Jarvis, Design Director, said;

“As the creative department, we needed to come up with something original. We landed on the idea of the true spirit of Christmas and giving to those less fortunate than ourselves. We decided to use our budget to buy toys for the Christmas appeal and asked for donations from the rest of the TMC team to help us out.

This year marked 40 years of Live Aid, so we also performed our own version of Band Aid’s ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’, with members of the studio team recreating scenes of different artists. It really helped the amount of donations we managed to get together.”

The Christmas activities and donations align with TMC’s pledge to supporting the local community and contributing to initiatives that bring hope and happiness to children.

Speaking of TMC’s ongoing commitment to Congleton, CEO Tim McCloud, said;

“We know that to help others with acts of kindness should happen throughout the year, but it is especially important at Christmas, where the focus should be on family and community. I am so proud of the whole TMC team for all the efforts they make and the way we try to make a difference, whilst having fun along the way. Congleton is our home – a small town with a big heart.”

Whilst the 2024 Toy Appeal has now come to a close in Congleton, members of the community who wish to support the NSPCC are encouraged to visit https://www.nspcc.org.uk/ for further ways to get involved. Every gift, big or small, can make a significant difference in a child’s life.
