Revisyon - Developing Brand Identity

Edinburgh Biosciences, a pioneering biotechnology organisation, have developed the world’s first non-invasive solution to treat and reverse cataracts, offering a life-saving alternative solution to cataract surgery.

This one-step diagnosis and treatment solution can be delivered in a primary care setting rather than a hospital, putting an end to long waiting lists and recovery time. The solution is currently undergoing patient trials with an aim to bring to market in early 2026.

Collaborating with TMC, the project team were challenged with developing a robust, future-proofed brand to help fund-raise and accelerate awareness, laying the foundations of a successful launch, and establishing a unique value proposition in contrast to deeply-rooted existing treatment pathways. The brand aim was to position the solution as a market disruptor, within an outdated and burdened sector across the UK.

Define Brand Identity & Audience Profiles

Through undertaking a series of workshops on the senior leaders ‘world view’, the team worked through a proven process to establish the basis of the brand. Using audience profiling and identifying key attributes and values of the organisation, the team were able to understand the most relevant language, tones and purpose.

Identifying a Naming Convention

Previously ‘Ledinbio’, the aim was to create a naming convention that was relevant to the market, whilst standing out within the saturated ocular health industry.  Key words and phrases were identified, highlighting the meanings, length, pronunciation and internationality to help narrow these down further.

Brand Development

Following this, development of the brand started. With the chosen name – ‘Revisyon’ – settled on, the team worked through our three-stage process, refining concepts in collaboration with Edinburgh Biosciences. The output included a commercially astute brand, with guidelines advising on usage, treatment, language and tone – setting up future strategic marketing activity for success.

Throughout the creative development, the brand’s tone of voice and style was taken into consideration to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.

Exploring visual components of the logomark, font style and the colours used in relation to the existing material, without hindering the potential for explosive future growth within the brand.
