Panther Fusion Campaign
Expand on the Hologic Panther visualisation from previous campaigns, elevating its placement through new forms of animation, to seamlessly integrate with 3D visualisations of products.
With their flagship diagnostic product, the Panther® System, offering an efficient and revolutionary addition to any lab, Hologic required a promotional hero asset to effectively communicate its unique benefits to their European market.
This need led to the creation of a Panther cat 3D ‘static model’, a striking visual that could be interwoven with product imagery for digital and physical campaigns. Based on the real-life build and structure of a Panther, the 3D model provided a high-quality appearance that matched the technology it represented.
To supplement the success of the European campaign, Hologic saw an opportunity to re-ignite interest in the Panther visualisation for a more US-centric audience. However, this time, the visualisation would be taken one step further by adding movement. Having worked together on several 3D and animated projects, Hologic challenged TMC to bring the Panther cat to life.
Our Solution
The Panther represented the innovative and exceptional technology that Hologic creates. To ensure that this was reflected in the animated model, its design required the ultimate level of detail. To make this possible, a research phase was conducted to gather information on the exact qualities of the original artwork and real-life Panther cats. Once the team had a clear understanding of what was needed, animation could begin.
3D artists and animators worked in collaboration to achieve an adaptable version of the original static before muscle systems were applied. From here, fur was designed and added in line with references, before being groomed to align seamlessly with the European static.
With a rigged model in place, movement could be added. Hologic and TMC worked closely together to develop movements for the Panther that would communicate specific expressions through its body language. The pacing, eye, and mouth movements were all carefully synchronised to create a cohesive and impactful video.
Once the animation was complete, it was placed into a space surrounded by Panther® System technology. The final animation was then delivered across multiple scenarios, including digital channels, congress spaces, and video walls. The Panther animation proved to be an effective tool for promoting Panther® System technology across the US.
