Developing and maintaining trust when collaborating with clients is crucial to delivering a successful strategy. Demonstrating a range of robust solutions to achieve commercial goals builds the bridge needed to establish this trust. Through our 16 years of experience, TMC have defined a unique creative process to develop such solutions, that we follow with each new client project.

Our flexible ‘Three Stage Process’ guides the core elements of the project. The multi-disciplinary teams within TMC develop tailored material, which then shapes a complex response to the initial brief; from clarification to refinement and delivery.

Using the framework ensures the goals and targets of the project remain at the forefront of decision-making and ensures expectations are managed throughout.

Why does TMC use the three-stage process?

The unique ‘three-stage’ framework was developed to ensure we maximise value for every client and each new project. Providing clients multiple opportunities to communicate while the vision is being realised, ensures efficient feedback and the ability to vocalise further requests before concepts are finalised.

Structuring the creative direction within these three defined steps ensures a streamlined process, helping to deliver the target goal within the desired timeframe. The framework provides key deadlines, ensures consistency and logic behind each step and gives our Studio Team the opportunity to explore the most effective directions.

STEP 1 – Define

The definition stage requires a response to the following key questions:

  • Who are the true target audience?
  • What do we want this audience to think or feel?
  • How do we want them to act?
  • Which disciplines are best used within the project?

Each response offers clarity on how TMC’s services can be strategically employed to develop an inspiring and empowering campaign that achieves a unique goal.

These initial project-team based discussions allow for unrestricted exploration of concepts which will eventually form the foundations of the final output. The team will suggest blends of our solutions and services that are best placed to meet the brief. Strategies could include the creation of rich, virtual environments, interactive data dashboards or emotive messaging.

Easily-digestible mood boards and competitive benchmarking from are at this point incorporated into the creative process, using insight to shape the journey and decision-making.

Real-World Application

Hologic, the global leader in Women’s Health, recently partnered with TMC to launch Fluent®; their revolutionary Fluid Management System.

As a first-step, the Project Team met to start concepting ideas. ‘Fluent’ conjured themes of keeping control, the gentle movement of water and the idea of breaking through boundaries, themes that were showcased to the client via initial storyboards. Favouring the ‘Ultimate Control’ perspective as it aligned most closely with their goals, the project entered the second stage.

STEP 2 – Develop

Now that the initial design has been confirmed, the creative direction is refined and further assets are explored and put into context.

Real-World Application

Working with Siemens to better visualise their ESG strategies, commitments and achievements, TMC recently developed a highly-animated, data visualisation to showcase their ‘DEGREE’ framework.

During their Three Stage Process, Stage Two saw regular adjustments to the animation from the client, implemented during the ‘live’ build. This flexibility mitigated the possibility of significant change at the delivery stage. TMC’s Account Management Team kept an open dialogue that allowed the client to be certain of the uniformity between the project and their initial brief.

STEP 3 – Deliver

The final phase is to gain approval from the client, prior to the projects release. The final format could manifest as traditional, offline materials, a digital suite of social assets, messaging matrix or launch of paid advertising.

Where possible, TMC integrates data collection with the launch of a new project, to ensure any follow-up activity is led by real data. Custom reporting, with an opportunity to explore consumer behaviours and responses to the creative, is a key component of measuring success and informing future projects.

Real-World Application

Collaborating with the Institute of Civil Engineering (ICE) to build a virtual careers environment, TMC was able to help drive brand awareness to the next generation of potential candidates. Having launched the 360, TMC developed hotspot analytics, reporting interactions with ‘clickable’ areas of the environment. Monitoring user behaviour, trends and pathways informed future targeting and campaign development, for ICE to reach their audience of aspiring engineers.
